Local radio
We encourage local radio stations to submit a copy of the broadcasts to us. This way, you will help us preserve the digital cultural heritage.
Royal Danish Library, as a cultural heritage institution under the Ministry of Culture, is responsible for the collection and preservation of both physical and digital cultural heritage. We collect some digital materials ourselves automatically, but there is a lot of content that we cannot collect in this way.
We therefore encourage local radio stations and others associated with digital publications to submit a copy of them to us. This will help us preserve the digital cultural heritage. You submit by using the upload function on this page.
If you have material for legal deposit that you cannot upload here, for example magazines, audiobooks or podcasts, you are very welcome to contact us.
How to upload local radio
Local radio is cultural heritage, and local stations are an important element in the Danish media landscape. Royal Danish Library is tasked with collecting and preserving Danish media as part of the cultural heritage, including local radio, under Danish Legal Deposit Act.
You can help us by sending us your station's broadcasts and programme parade for week 46 each year. We automatically collect the nationwide stations and the stations that stream on the internet, but we do not have the ability to collect local radio automatically.
Before uploading, you must ensure that you have the recordings/audio files available in the correct format. You should also ensure that you have a digital copy of the programme parade. To upload, you must log in with MitID.
What file types should we use?
The audio files must be in one of the following formats: wav, aiff, flac, m4a, aac, mp3, wma or ogg.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us .
What happens to the material?
Once we have received your upload, we will preserve the content for posterity in accordance with the rules and guidelines in force at any time.
We provide access to the content in accordance with applicable legislation, including the Copyright Act. You can find Danish Legal Deposit Act at retsinformation.dk .
