You are welcome to photograph and film for private use in the Royal Danish Library, provided that the rules for personal data (GDPR) are observed. Professional and/or commercial use of photos and films requires permission and a prior agreement with us.

For both private and professional film and photography, filming or photography is not permitted in our reading rooms during the reading rooms' opening hours.

Contact us at filmogfoto@kb.dk or tel. (+45) 9132 4339 to hear more about prices and possible facilities for photo and film shoots on locations in Copenhagen. For inquiries regarding photo and film shoots on locations in Aarhus, please contact ask the library.

For resource reasons, there is a limit to how many photo and film recordings we can accommodate. It is therefore necessary to submit inquiries in good time, no later than 4 weeks before the desired date.

In order for us to decide on a request for photo and film recording, we must receive the following information:

  • What will be recorded and what will it be used for?
  • Who is recording and on whose behalf is it being recorded?
  • Who participates in the recordings?
  • What is the scope of the recordings:
    - How much equipment do you bring?
    - What is the size of the crew?
    - What are the desired dates and times for setting up, recording and taking down?
