Royal Danish Library's Licensing Service has entered into a number of licence agreements with research publishers regarding the possibility of publishing with Open Access for corresponding authors at the affiliated institutions. Publishing Open Access means that research publications are made available to all interested parties.

The national Open Access strategy has a vision of creating free access to Danish research publications for all citizens, researchers and companies. Royal Danish Library supports this vision by negotiating licence agreements with research publishers, which give corresponding authors at affiliated institutions the opportunity to publish Open Access in the publisher's journals.

In practice, Royal Danish Library's Open Access licence agreements work in such a way that you, as a corresponding author covered by an agreement, avoid having to pay the so-called "Article Processing Charge" (colloquially APC), which often constitutes a significant expense in connection with Open Access publishing.
