What is Royal Danish Library's document service?
The service offers delivery of articles published in international scientific journals and the articles are always delivered digitally – often within a few minutes.
The document service is for organisations that occasionally need access to research literature and where the cost of ongoing journal subscriptions does not match the actual need.
Royal Danish Library provides and administers the service in collaboration with our technical partner Research Solutions.
Who can use Royal Danish Library's document service?
Initially, we offer document services to organisations that already have a collaboration/service agreement with Royal Danish Library. Read more about service agreements.
Contact us if you are unsure whether your organisation has a collaboration or service agreement with us - or if you would like to hear more about the possibilities for creating an agreement.
What does it cost?
There are two types of costs related to the service: direct costs and administrative costs.
Direct costs
There are two direct costs:
- A fixed service fee per item ordered of 3.75 USD. If more than 5800 orders are placed across all serviced institutions in a year, the service fee will drop to 3.00 USD until the end of the year.
- A variable cost per ordered item, consisting of a copyright royalty fee. The royalty fee varies depending on the item ordered. Your organisation has the option to define a cap on this expense.
