Agreements
Royal Danish Library has negotiated license agreements with more than 65 scientific publishers from all over the world for access to and use of e-resources.

The list of publishers is dynamic and updated annually. The agreements always follow the calendar year. For 2025, Royal Danish Library has entered into agreements with the publishers below. Feel free to contact us if you have suggestions for publishers or journals that we should negotiate with in the future.
Agreements with the following publishers
American Academy of Pediatrics
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is a professional association within pediatrics. They publish six journals, including Pediatrics and Pediatrics in Review.
American Association for Cancer Research
AACR is a professional association related to cancer research. They publish 10 journals on cancer research, which can be subscribed to individually or in packages.
American Association for the Advancement of Science
The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) is a professional association within various scientific disciplines. They publish the journal Science and five other journals in the science family, which can be combined in various ways in the agreement that Royal Danish Library has entered into with AAAS.
American Chemical Society
The American Chemical Society (ACS) is a professional association within chemistry. ACS publishes approximately 90 journals, of which approximately 70 journals are included in the packages you can subscribe to through Royal Danish Library's agreement with the publisher.
American Council of Learned Societies
The agreement with the American Council of Learned Societies provides access to Humanities E-Book (HEB). HEB is an online collection of approximately 5,700 e-books within the humanities and social science disciplines.
American Institute of Physics
The American Institute of Physics publishes titles in physics and distributes journals on behalf of 10 societies.
American Mathematical Society
The American Mathematical Society (AMS) is a professional association dedicated to mathematics. They publish scientific journals and develop the database Mathematical Reviews/MathSciNet.
American Physical Society
The American Physical Society (APS) is a non-profit organisation for physics professionals. The agreement with AMS provides access to 13 journals in physics and related fields.
American Physiological Society
The American Physiological Society publishes 16 journals in physiology and related subjects. Subscriptions are available for individual titles or customised packages.
American Psychological Association
The American Psychological Association (APA) is a scientific organisation within psychology. They publish approximately 90 peer-reviewed journals within psychology and develop databases such as PsycInfo, PsycNet, and PsycArticles.
American Society for Microbiology
The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) is a professional association within the Life Sciences. The journal package in the agreement between Royal Danish Library and ASM contains nine journals, six of which provide Open Access publishing options through the Subscribe to Open (S2O) model.
Annual Reviews
Annual Reviews is an independent, non-profit academic publisher that publishes 51 journals. The publisher is in the process of converting all journals to full open access using the Subscribe to Open (S2O) model.
ASM International
ASM International publishes reference works in materials technology.
Association for Computing Machinery Digital Library
The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is a professional association within Computer and Information Technology. The ACM Digital Library provides access to journals, newsletters, magazines, conference proceedings, et cetera. All ACM peer-reviewed publications are Open Access, and the agreement between Royal Danish Library and ACM covers the costs of Open Access publishing.
Berlingske media
There are two separate products under the agreement: Berlingske and Weekendavisen. For both applies that the current newspaper is accessible via IP recognition, both online and e-newspaper. Berlingske has an archive from 2008, Weekendavisen's archive starts in 2015.
BioOne
BioOne is a non-profit publishing house that publishes journals and e-books in biological, ecological and environmental science areas.
Bloomsbury Publishing
The Bloomsbury Publishing agreement covers digital resources within the areas of arts, humanities and social sciences.
BMJ Journals
BMJ Journals is a scientific publishing house within the medical field and is part of the BMJ. Group/British Medical Association and publishes, among other things, the journal The BMJ. The agreement between Royal Danish Library and BMJ Journals provides the opportunity to subscribe to Premium Collection, Standard Collection or individual titles.
Brill
Brill is a publishing house that focuses on the humanities, social sciences, law and biology. Royal Danish Library's agreement with the publisher includes various magazine packages. The publisher is now merging with De Gruyter and will in future be called De Gruyter Brill.
Børsen
The product is called Børsen Studienet+. IP access is provided to Børsen.dk, the e-newspaper, various supplementary media as well as Børsen's pro media. There is archive access back to 1932.
Cambridge University Press
Cambridge University Press publishes scientific journals in, among other things, the following fields: the areas of humanities, social sciences and STM. Royal Danish Library's agreement covers reading access and Open Access publishing in all of the publisher's hybrid journals.
Canadian Science Publishing
Canadian Science Publishing is Canada's largest publisher of scientific journals. They publish 22 journals primarily in the natural sciences and
engineering.
CAS SciFinder
CAS SciFinder is a chemistry database that provides access to the world's most comprehensive source of references, substances and reactions in chemistry and related sciences.
Clarivate
The Web of Science Core Collection provides reference and citation data from journals, conference proceedings and other documents within various academic disciplines. The database contains the Science Citation Index, the Social Science Citation Index, Arts & Humanities Citation Index, Emerging Sources Citation Index, Book Citation Index et cetera. Under Research & Analytics, Clarivate also publishes other analysis tools and
citation databases.
De Gruyter
De Gruyter is a scientific publishing house that publishes journals for various subjects. The agreement between Royal Danish Library and De Gruyter enables Open Access publishing with APC waiver with a Full Collection subscription. Full Collection contains +450 titles. De Gruyter is now merging with Brill and will in the future be be called De Gruyter Brill.
Dun & Bradstreet
The database "Names & Numbers Business" contains updated information about companies in Denmark, such as financial statements and key figures.
EBSCO
EBSCO is an aggregator that provides both its own databases and those of other publishers. Most of the products are available in several versions from pure subject overviews to full text.
Elsevier
Elsevier is a scientific publisher that publishes approximately 3300 journals, which are accessed through the Science Direct platform. In addition, they develop and operate databases such as Embase, Scopus and Reaxys as well as products such as Clinical Key. Royal Danish Library's agreement with Elsevier allows for Open Access publishing in selected hybrid journals with APC waiver.
Emerald
Emerald Publishing is a digital publisher that publishes academic journals and books with a focus on the areas of social sciences and management as well as health, science, engineering and technology.
Encyclopedia Britannica
Encyclopedia Britannica publishes, among other things, Britannica Academic, ImageQuest and Merriam Webster, all of which are part of Royal Danish Library's agreement with the publisher. Britannica Academic is an all-round reference work with academic articles that provide insight into global perspectives and insights. Merriam Webster is an online dictionary, and ImageQuest is an image database.
Euromonitor
Euromonitor publishes Passport, a database of market data, consumer insights and analysis of global industries and trends. The database contains information on market size, demographics, competitors and forecasts for future development. The database provides an overview of the economic landscape in +200 countries.
GlobalData
Database product. New institutions on the agreement will only be offered GlobalData Explorer. The agreement was previously called Marketline.
Infomedia
Infomedia's Media Archive contains articles from +2500 sources, covering both classic printed media and electronic publications – both national and local – as well as magazines and weeklies. The majority of Danish publications can be searched in Infomedia's archive either as full articles or in the form of excerpts.
IOP Publishing
IOP Publishing publishes journals and books in the field of physics.
JAMA Network
The American Medical Association is an American professional association of doctors and medical students, to which the publisher JAMA Network belongs. They publish among other things 13 medical journals: JAMA, JAMA Oncology and JAMA Psychiatry.
Johns Hopkins University Press (MUSE)
Johns Hopkins publishes journals in the humanities and social sciences. Since 2025, several of the journals will be available via the Subscribe to Open (S2O) model.
JoVE Research & Education
The Journal of Visualized Experiments, JoVE, is a collection of videos that visualize experiments, methods, techniques, et cetera for use in laboratories. The videos are targeted at both researchers and students within natural, medical and technical fields.
JSTOR
JSTOR is a digital archive that provides access to more than 12 million journal articles, books and images. JSTOR is part of ITHAKA, a non-profit organisation that also includes Artstore.
Kluwer Law
Kluwer Law Online publishes peer-reviewed journals on international legal conditions within many different practice areas, written by experts from the whole world.
Lexis Nexis
LexisNexis is an American data analytics company. Its products are diverse databases accessed through online portals, including portals for computer supported legal research, newspaper search and consumer information.
Mary Ann Liebert, Inc.
Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. publishes journals and books in the natural sciences topics, some of which are collected in the publisher's basic package of 68 journals. From 2024, Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. is owned by Sage.
McGraw Hill
McGraw Hill publishes a number of textbooks, reference and trade publications, including: in the medical, business and engineering fields. Access Science and Harrison Online are some of the reference works covered by the national licensing agreement.
Medical Journals Sweden AB
Medical Journals Sweden AB is a not-for-profit Swedish-owned publishing house that publishes nine open access journals, for example Journal of Rehabilitation Medicine (JRM), Acta Dermato- Venereologica (ActaDV) and Acta Orthopaedica (ActaO). The agreement gives authors a 12%
APC discount.
OVID Technologies, Inc.
Ovid Technologies, Inc., part of the Wolters Kluwer group of companies, provides access to online bibliographic databases, academic journals and other products primarily within health science. OVID distributes, among other things, New England Journal of Medicine, NEJM Evidence, NEJM AI, NEJM Catalyst and NEJM Journal of Watch.
Oxford University Press
Oxford University Press is a British university press. Royal Danish Library handles both a magazine package of approximately 350 magazines as well as their reference works such as Oxford English Dictionary, Grove Music Online and Max Planck Encyclopedia of Public International Law.
Politiken
The agreement provides IP access to politiken.dk as well as today's e-newspaper. There is access to the full newspaper archive back to the 1st year 1884.
Portland Press
Portland Press is the publisher of the Biochemical Society. Their publications primarily cover the molecular biosciences.
Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS)
The National Academy of Sciences publishes more than 3000 research articles per year in PNAS. The agreement provides access to the current volume as well as archives back to 1915.
(Clarivate) Proquest
ProQuest is a database platform with broad coverage in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and medicine. The databases provide full text or bibliographic access to a wide range of scientific journals, newspapers, conference papers, theses, books and other publications. Proquest is part of Clarivate.
Radiological Society of North America
The Radiological Society of North America is a non-profit organisation that, among other things, publishes journals within radiology, including Radiology and RadioGraphics.
Rockefeller University Press
Rockefeller University Press is a university press focusing on Life Sciences and biomedicine. The publisher publishes 4 journals, including the Journal of Cell Biology. These journals can be compiled in different ways in Royal Danish Library's agreement with the publisher.
Royal Society of Chemistry
Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is a professional association within chemistry. The periodical package in the agreement between Royal Danish Library and the RSC contains approximately 50 titles.
Sage
Sage is an academic publisher of journals, among other things. They publish more than 1,000 journals covering business, humanities, social sciences, science, technology and medicine.
SAI Global
The database contains standards from a large part of the English-speaking world.
Scandinavian University Press
Scandinavian University Press (formerly Idunn) publishes approximately 80 Nordic academic and research journals within the fields of education, social sciences, humanities and healthcare.
SPIE
SPIE is an international association in the field of optics and photonics technology, which publishes journals and conference proceedings. The agreement between Royal Danish Library and SPIE provides access to the resources via the SPIE Digital Library.
Springer Nature
Springer Nature Group publishes scientific journals, books and databases within Science, Technology, Medicine and Social Sciences. The agreement between Royal Danish Library and Springer Nature provide access to read and publish in approximately 2000 Springer-journals from Springe, Palgrave Macmillan and Adis imprints. There is also an agreement about reading access to a wide range of titles from Nature.
Statista
Statista is one of the world's largest platforms for statistics, market data and research with over 1.5 million data on 80,000 different topics.
Taylor & Francis
Scientific journals within Science & Technology, Social Sciences & Humanities and Medical. The journals can be subscribed to in database collections or as single titles.
John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
Wiley publishes approximately 1500 scientific journals within both HSS and STM. Royal Danish Library's agreements include all of the publisher's hybrid journals, several reference works and The Cochrane Library.
