The national Open Access strategy

Denmark has a national Open Access strategy, which Royal Danish Library’s Licensing Service supports the implementation of.

Royal Danish Library works actively to support and promote Denmark’s national strategy for Open Access.

Target: “From 2025 onwards, there should be unimpeded digital access for all to all peer-reviewed scientific articles from Danish research institutions – with a maximum 12- month embargo.”

Royal Danish Library is an important player in the work to achieve full Open Access to Danish research publications through our work with national licence agreements, where we, in negotiations with the scientific publishers, work for agreements that allow the establishment of Open Access to all Danish research publications.

Denmark’s National Strategy for Open Access can be read at the Ministry of Higher Education and Science.
